On this case scenario, we found a Dell laptop from the Latitude series that had a thick vertical stripe.
Even tough the stripe was completely black, the touchscreen works normally and is responsive to the touch as you can see on the video below.
That’s why we think this indicates the problem of the vertical black stripe is either on the screen inverter or the screen cable that connects it to the motherboard.
